Twelve vehicles head trough the Huguenot Tunnel for the integral meeting of the 4x4 Megaworld Club of the western Cape to be held at Klipbokkop. This is the home of the 4x4 Goodyear Academy midway between Worcester and Villiersdorp some 130km north east of Cape Town. Hosted by Gerhard & Elmarie Groenewald with their son PG a short brief of the club with its objectives was held by Megaworld's Richard Giller and Bernie Williams.  Following this presentation Gerhard Groenewald who is a conservationist, 4x4 trainer and founder of the 4x4 Eco Challenge gave a fascinating speech view of how the Megaworld Club can help him with the Toyota Enviro Outreach programme and how members can get themselves to parts of Africa not normally seen on the tourist trip.

Recently PG Groenewald got married to Delouise Joubert at Klipbokkop. Klipbokkop is available for small intimate weddings up to 60 guests.

About us

Groenewald FamilyKlipbokkop, owned by the Groenewald Family, obtained the mountain farm in 1994, after which the resort was opened to the public in 1998.  At Klipbokkop we strive to instil not only a greater appreciation for and awareness of the environment, the vegetation (fynbos), the plants and the animals, but also the responsibility of using vehicles in a sensitive eco-system. Klipbokkop was developed and is managed with a commitment to promote responsible and environmentally friendly tourism, and strives to attract and influence like-minded visitors.

Klipbokkop is a magnificent and majestic reserve set on the slopes of the Stettyn Mountains. It is a hidden gem, that provides sanctuary for several endangered species, and where the Fynbos shows its true beauty and diversity. The splendid panorama of mountain ranges is present in all directions, and every valley is a treat for the eye. The beauty and tranquillity of Klipbokkop is indeed extraordinary and awe inspiring. An unforgettable experience.
