Toe ek ’n laitie was, het ek ’n held gehad. Charlie Tissen, onbetwiste Suid-Afri kaan se veldfietskampioen. As hulle daar by Syringa Spa net buite Johannesburg gejaag het, was ek daar.

Ja, Charlie was my held. Ek wou ook soos hy kon ry. Ag, om te leer om net effe so goed soos hy te kon ry was my begeerte, maar motorfietse was nou nie juis hoog op die waarderingslys van die res van my huismense nie.

Leopard at KlipbokkopThe CLT Boland project is a field study of the Cape leopard population in the Boland Mountains. This study aims to establish the first rigorous population estimates for leopards in this region, and to identify possible conflict hotspots. The ultimate objectives of the research are to:

  • obtain baseline data necessary for ensuring the survival of leopards in the Cape mountains;
  • alleviate leopard-farmer conflict;
  • establish the presence/absence/relative abundance of resident mammal populations.

About us

Groenewald FamilyKlipbokkop, owned by the Groenewald Family, obtained the mountain farm in 1994, after which the resort was opened to the public in 1998.  At Klipbokkop we strive to instil not only a greater appreciation for and awareness of the environment, the vegetation (fynbos), the plants and the animals, but also the responsibility of using vehicles in a sensitive eco-system. Klipbokkop was developed and is managed with a commitment to promote responsible and environmentally friendly tourism, and strives to attract and influence like-minded visitors.

Klipbokkop is a magnificent and majestic reserve set on the slopes of the Stettyn Mountains. It is a hidden gem, that provides sanctuary for several endangered species, and where the Fynbos shows its true beauty and diversity. The splendid panorama of mountain ranges is present in all directions, and every valley is a treat for the eye. The beauty and tranquillity of Klipbokkop is indeed extraordinary and awe inspiring. An unforgettable experience.
